Editing and translating this wiki

Registering and login to this wiki

From Feb. 2020, due to changes in MediaWiki, your forum password is no more valid in this wiki.

To improve or translate this wiki, you must first register your wiki username and password.

If you were registered before 2020, just reinitialize your password.

Once done, ask on the development forum for an Editor profile.

It would be easier for us if you could choose the same username on the forum and on the wiki, but it is not required.

You should have or learn a basic knowledge of MediaWiki

Name and title of the pages

To allow direct access to help pages from Gestinux, and an easier management, non english pages must have the same name as in English with /xx added at the end, where xx is the iso code of the language.

To create a new translation of an existing page in the language zz, add or replace /zz at the end of the url.

To translate :

the english page Using in german, add /de to have http://gestinux.net/mediawiki/index.php?title=Using/de in the address.
the french page Using/fr in english, remove /fr to have http://gestinux.net/mediawiki/index.php?title=Using in the address.
the french page Using/fr in spanish, replace /fr by /es to obtain http://gestinux.net/mediawiki/index.php?title=Using/es .

Then, you will have to click the bouton Create, ou Edit if the page already exists.

To display a readable title, each page should start with : {{#DISPLAYTITLE:Title of the page}}

Links to available translations are created automatically by this template. They should not be added manually.

Images

You can (and should) upload examples from the Test database.

If possible, use only .png files and name the images from the page name and the language.
